I was so excited to travel back home to meet my cousin Lindsay’s baby Ellie for the first time!!!!! And to rent a cottage in Muskoka with Amber, her husband Ed, and their kids Olivia and Audrey.
Lindsay and her fiance Jacques very kindly picked me up at the airport with Ellie and we went back to hang at their place in Oakville. We ordered in some pizza from Blondies!! My old favourite! It was really nice to catch up with them and meet Ellie who is super cute and so little!!! Lindsay and I read her a story in ridiculous voices and even though Ellie is too young to understand I still got a kick out of it.
I crashed at Amber and Ed’s and got to wake up and see the girls in the morning!! We had an amazing week at the cottage – playing in the water, going on the paddleboard and kayaks, building mermaids in the sand, reading and playing and just being silly. At night when the girls went to bed, Amber and I had a lot of time to catch up and hang. We were even able to sneak out for a nice dinner just us two while Ed watched the girls. Their kids are so much fun to be around – they are so loving, kind, polite, and of course, hilarious like all kids of their ages are. We even celebrated my birthday (very early) because the girls just love celebrating. It was a really memorable week with them, I love being Auntie Lauren!
After the cottage I met up with my mom and Keith for a nice dinner downtown before flying back to Vancouver the next day.
