Norway: Last day in Leknes

Today I had to make my way back to Bodo on the mainland before my early morning flight to Oslo tomorrow. Of course I had to start the day with one last sauna and sea swim. I was able to get a late check out so I relaxed in the sun on my patio and read my book until it was time to make moves. I caught the bus back to Moskenes for the ferry to Bodo. Once again the bus did not let me down, it was actually a great way to get around. We drove back through Flakstad and Reine and it made me miss those places all over again. I don’t even have words to describe how this trip has been. I’m leaving feeling happy, grateful, and healthy. I really pushed myself physically on this trip and it has me excited about tackling harder hikes and kayaking trips at home than I ever thought I could do. Norway overall has been amazing but Lofoten specifically is an incredibly special place. I feel like I’m leaving with a stronger sense of self and really enjoyed this solo journey. It’s hard to leave but I can’t wait to see my boys at home!! In Bodo I had one last excellent dinner – I really wanted to have reindeer again. It was so good! I’m not sure if I’ll post tomorrow as hopefully it will be an uneventful travel day, but I do plan to keep using this blog for my other summer adventures as it’s a fun way to document my time off! Off to bed now, so strange to think my next sleep will be back home!
